Contributing to the Federal Chamber of Architects' AI Code for the Planning Profession
I contributed as an expert to both workshops held by the Federal Chamber of Architects to develop an AI code for the planning profession (May and June 2026).
The Federal Chamber of Architects (Bundesarchitektenkammer) is developing an AI code for architecture, interior architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning. It aims to give the profession guidance, from data protection and authorship to the traceability of AI-supported decisions. I contributed as an expert to both workshops.
The first workshop on May 8, 2026 produced initial rule proposals, which were then reviewed by all 16 regional chambers of architects. The second workshop on June 26 refined and prioritized the rules and clarified which should remain recommendations and which should be anchored in professional law. The code is due to be adopted later in 2026.
For me this closes a circle, since I had co-conceived and moderated the Digital Talks series at the Berlin Chamber of Architects that served as the impulse series for the code.
